"Music is the language
the soul speaks
when words fall short."
Ranging from compas, zouk, meringue and bachata — his art speaks to every heart, in every corner of the world.— Maestro MJRC
Maestro Jean René Charles is an evangelical Haitian-American artist who has been living in the United States for over twenty years. Born on March 22, 1947 in the southern department of Haiti, he spent his first fifteen years rooted in the rhythms and soul of his homeland — before making his way to Port-au-Prince, where he found his calling and his voice.
In 1971, shortly after discovering his extraordinary gifts, Charles launched his ministry — dedicating his art entirely to the glory of God and the proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. What began as a calling became a half-century journey that would touch countless lives across continents.
Singer, composer, arranger, and comedian, Maestro Jean René Charles commands a rich repertoire of more than 200 songs across 23 albums. His music spans compas, zouk, meringue, bachata and beyond — addressing society's most pressing issues with fearless authenticity. His singular style has earned him honors from public and private entities throughout the world. The majority of his albums are now available online.
After five decades of music that moved a nation — a new chapter is being written. Something extraordinary is on its way.
